greg secor

Greg Secor is on the faculty of Grand Valley State University where he directs the percussion program and teaches courses in music literature. He is a member of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and frequently performs with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra. Greg is active as a steelpan performer with the Michigan-based group Pangea as well as directing The Grand Valley State University Steelband. Secor has commissioned and premiered several works for solo percussion including works by Rupert Kettle, Pieter Snapper and Christopher Deane whose “A Robe of Orange Flame” was premiered at the 2005 PASIC “Focus Day.” He has also performed at the 2001, 2006 and 2008 PASICs. He also performed and recorded with the GVSU New Music Ensemble on their acclaimed Steve Reich “Music for 18 Musicians” and Terry Riley’s “In C Remixed” recordings on Innova.
